As expected, an hour ago Steve Jobs announced at Apple’s press conference that the company will launch a new iTunes phone through partnership with Motorola and a mini-ipod which he termed the "iPod Nano" and described as thinner than a pencil …
You have to hand it to Apple, they know how to hype up new product launches, from their brief email to journalists about the press conference last week, through to the many discussions and media hits they acquired talking about the notoriously secretive process for announcing new launches and products. In the end, they announced nothing more than the products most people expected them to — but what great publicity along the way.
In fact, they even had people coming up with alternative designs for what the iPod Nano could look like:
